Defence
The Defence Section is an integral part of the British Embassy in Addis Ababa. Its aim is to foster and promote a long lasting and serious defence relationship between the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces and the Ethiopian Ministry of National Defence [EMOND] and its Armed Forces.
The role of the Defence Section is:
- To provide advice to the Ambassador on British and Ethiopian Armed Forces.
- To act as a link in developing the relationship between British and Ethiopian Armed Forces.
- To encourage Defence Diplomacy
The Defence Section promotes:
- The exchange of ideas and experiences between the MODUK and EMOND.
- Exchange visits to and from Ethiopia Course attendance in the United Kingdom and at the British Peace Support Training Centre in Nairobi by members of the Ethiopian Armed Forces and the running of courses in Ethiopia for the benefit of the Ethiopian Armed Forces.
